Draycot Farm / Home Farm

By 1731, according to the Victoria County History, Draycot Farm (also known as Home Farm) was one of five farms in Draycot Cerne. The farmhouse was in the range of buildings immediately to the northwest of Draycot House; see the capital letter 'B' on the 1808 map.

A survey of Draycot Manor in 1730/1731 tells us that 'Farmer Laurence' rented 'part of Draycott Farm' including the farmhouse and 23 plots of land.

Another survey, in 1808, records that Jacob Henley was the farmer at Draycot Farm, but in 1851 John Bailey was the farmer at 'Home Farm'; some of the farm at that time was in Clanville. Lord Cowley took back the farm buildings in the later 1800s, and converted them for other use, and the farmland became part of the new Draycot Park Farm.
